The Cord Guard Flexing Test is designed to assess the durability and mechanical strength of cord guards used in electrical appliances. This test ensures compliance with IS: 302, IS: 366, IS: 1293, IEC 60884, and other international safety standards.

The test is conducted on cord guards that do not meet dimensional requirements, evaluating their resistance to repeated flexing.

Test Procedure:

1. The cord guard is mounted in the appliance with a 60 cm to 100 cm length of cord.
2. With the appliance held stationary, the cord is flexed back and forth:
   • At an angle of approximately 90° and 180°.
   • Pre-set cycles of flexing are performed.
3. At the end of the test, the cord and guard must show no unusual signs of abrasion or wear.
